Preparing for Easter Prayer Guide
As we seek to love and lead all people to a new life with Christ this Easter season, my prayer is that this guide will help you gain a deeper understanding of God’s love and develop a renewed gratitude for what Jesus has done for you.
Day 1: Monday (Cleansing the Temple)
Read Mark 11:15-19
-Prayer Focus
-Confess any areas of your life where sin has taken root.
-Ask Jesus to renew your commitment and to live a life that honors
God.
Day 2: Tuesday (Teaching in the Temple)
Read Matthew 22:34-40
-Prayer Focus
-Ask God to deepen your love for Him and others.
-Intercede for those who have not yet heard the gospel or believed
in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Day 3: Wednesday (Betrayal and Anointing)
Read Mark 14:1-11
-Prayer Focus
-Pray for forgiveness for times when you have betrayed or denied
Jesus, with your actions.
-Thank God for His extravagant love and grace poured out through
Jesus.
Day 4: Thursday (Last Supper)
Read Luke 22:7-23
-Prayer Focus
-Pray for unity among believers, as Jesus prayed for His disciples.
-Thank God for the gift of communion and the reminder of Jesus'
sacrifice.
Day 5: Good Friday (The Crucifixion)
Read John 19:16-37
-Prayer Focus
-Mediate on the immense love of Jesus displayed on the cross.
-Confess your sins and thank Jesus for bearing them on your behalf.
Day 6: Saturday (Waiting in Hope)
Read Matthew 27:57-66
-Prayer Focus
-Pray for patience and trust in God's promises, even in times of
waiting.
-Anticipate the joy of Easter morning and the victory of Christ over
sin and death.
Day 7: Easter Sunday (Resurrection and New Life)
Read Luke 24:1-12
-Prayer Focus
-Praise God for the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
-Pray for the resurrection power of Christ to be evident in your life
and in the world.
