Prayers for Revival

There is no doubt that churches in America need revival. What is revival, and how do we seek it? Revival is a spiritual reawakening in the life of the follower of Jesus Christ. Revival is for the person God has saved who has gone “dormant” or “asleep” in their faith. We are seeking God to wake us up and revive us. Revival happens personally and corporately in churches when we seek the Lord first, obey Him, and ask Him to refresh us!

Here is a way to pray for God to revive us! You can pray through the acrostic daily or for just one letter each day; it is up to you!

Return:

·      Pray for God’s people to return to Him in repentance and personal holiness. Pray for a loved one, friend, co-worker, or church member far from the Lord. Pray for them to return. In your prayer time, pray for God to forgive you of any sins you committed or for ways you have not done what He wanted you to do (Acts 3:19).

Eyes:

·      Pray for the eyes of people’s hearts to be enlightened to God’s revelation and calling in their lives (Ephesians 3:18).

Vision:

·      Pray for the vision and direction of ministries at Heights. Pray that God will do more than we can think and ask for the glory of His name (Ephesians 3:20-21).

Involvement:

·      Pray for your involvement in taking the gospel to the lost and how you can personally disciple a believer in Jesus. (Matthew 9:35-38).

Victory:

·      Pray for those at Heights and yourself to be protected from Satan and temptations (John 17:15).

Acknowledgment:

·      Pray that we acknowledge our deep need for revival in our lives and church (Isaiah 64:1).

Lost:

·      Pray for your 4x4. Pray for your friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbors to come to believe that Jesus Christ is the one who can forgive them of their sins (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
