Bible Reading Plans 2024

We can all benefit from reading the Bible more in our lives. However, I have one problem when reading the Bible: where do I start? The Bible contains 66 books that tell one grand story: how God redeems humanity back to Himself through the person and work of Jesus Christ! But the Bible can be intimidating to read.

I am more consistent in my Bible reading when I follow a good Bible reading plan. Below are several plans I have used over the years; give one a try!

Plan 1: 1-2 Chapters a Day Plan:

·      In this plan, you will read one to two chapters each day, and for the year, you will read through the Bible! http://static.esvmedia.org/assets/pdfs/rp.esv.study.bible.pdf

Plan 2: Read Five Days a Week Plan:

·      With this plan, you will read at least five days each week and take the weekends off for reflection. This will also take you through the Bible in a year. https://www.fivedaybiblereading.com

Plan 3: Chronological Bible Reading Plan:

·      This is one of my favorite ways to read the Bible. Everything is laid out in the chronological order in which events took place. This is a great one-year plan. http://static.esvmedia.org/assets/pdfs/rp.chronological.pdf

Plan 4: Book at a Time Reading Plan:

·      This plan has you read 3-4 chapters daily, and you will read through the Bible in a year! https://www.navigators.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/navigators-book-at-a-time-bible-reading-plan.pdf

Plan 5: Robert M’Cheyne Read through Bible in a Year Plan:

  • This plan takes you through the Bible in a year. Each day you will read two passages from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament, and one from either the Psalms or the gospels. In one year, you will read through the Old Testament once, the New Testament, and the gospel twice. Here is the plan. https://www.bible.com/reading-plans/24-mcheyne-one-year-reading-plan

It was once said if you fail to plan, then plan to fail. So take a moment, pray about which plan is best for you, and get started today! Stay tuned for a blog post on tips on reading your Bible soon!
