Evil Will Not Win: A Reflection on Charlie Kirk, Iryna Zarutska, and 9/11

Today is a day of mourning and remembering.

We are shocked and grieving the sudden death of Charlie Kirk. Our hearts ache for Iryna Zarutska and her brutal public murder on a train in Charlotte a few days ago. And on this September 11th, we pause to remember the thousands who died in the attacks 24 years ago, along with the families who still carry that pain.

These stories, whether personal or national, remind us that we live in a broken and evil world. Violence, tragedy, and death are not strangers to us. Ever since Cain murdered his brother Abel, violence has been present in our world. Evil confronts us and shakes us, and deep down, it reminds us of something we all know: this world is not as it should be.

But the Bible gives us a promise that lifts our eyes beyond the pain:

“…so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.”

(Philippians 2:10–11)

One day, Jesus will return. One day, every wrong will be made right. Every wound will be healed. Every tear will be wiped away. Evil will be silenced forever. The darkness we feel so deeply today will be swallowed up in the light of Christ.

That day is coming. But here’s the urgent truth: every knee will bow, either in willing worship or in final judgment.

Friend, do not wait until it is too late. Bow your knee to Jesus now. Confess Him as Lord today. Trust Him with your life while there is still time. He is the only hope in a world filled with evil, and He is the only Savior who can bring peace to your heart today and eternal life tomorrow.

The world is coming to Jesus. Jesus is coming back. And every knee will bow. Make sure yours bows in worship now, not in regret later.
